Rebel Motorsport Club is once again taking part in the Castle Combe Performance Car Action Day!

Yes, it's getting on for that time of year again - Spring time. And that means only one thing. Castle Combe Circuit will be holding its annual Performance Car Action Day and Rebel Motorsport Club will be in attendance.
"If its road legal, has four wheels and an engine chances are it will be eligible for our Performance Car Action Day. Displays from some of the largest performance clubs, stands with lots of tuning parts and accessories and you have the reason why this day is so popular. Look out for trophies for the best car and best club stand of the show. Open to anyone with a suitable car and current driving licence."

Castle Combe Circuit is a fantastic circuit and extremely popular with motorsport fans throughout the UK, Europe and the World. For anyone who hasn't been to Castle Combe (especially for an Action Day) we would highly recommend this Event!
Firstly, and most importantly, Rebel Motorsport Club has a club stand for this years Event. As a result we are looking to encourage our members to come along, to join in and meet other members, and to enjoy what will be a great day out.

Currently we are working out the finer details regarding the running of our Club stand and more information will be provided as these details are sorted out. We are looking to arrange track time for those who fancy taking their cars on track (but it's not a requirement and you are more than welcome to join us on our stand!) If we are able to arrange discounted track time for Rebel members through our Club stand, then we do ask kindly that those members help support Rebel by having their cars on our stand when not in use.

Please take note of the following (courtesy of Castle Combe) if you plan to take your car on track.
All drivers must attend a safety briefing, helmets are compulsory (these can be hired on day), seat belts must be worn, arms and legs must be covered, cars must be silenced to 100 dba and must be to MOT safety standards. Safety is paramount and full track and safety rules will be sent with all tickets and are available on the day from the Organisers Office.
There will be a maximum of 28 cars on the track at any given time.
A track session lasts for a period of 15 minutes.
Subject to availability, we will try & ensure drivers are given the sessions required but the organisers reserve the right to merge sessions where necessary.
One important thing to note is that Castle Combe has explicitly stated that only performance cars will be allowed on the Club stands and on track. We cannot do anything about this and simply have to obey the rules like any other club in attendance.

For those who haven't been to Castle Combe circuit before, here is the location of the venue.

This year (2009) our designated areas are D48, D49 and D50. These areas are clearly shown in the image below (click image to enlarge).
IMPORTANT - please read carefully!
Please click and read the following items (despite being from last year's event the content they hold is valid for this year). They are important if you are taking your car (and potentially a passenger) out onto the track. If you don't follow and/or obey the rules you will forfeit your track session and Castle Combe will not reimburse you!
You will likely be issued with a similar leaflet on the day but it's best to read up on it now and to ensure you are 100% ready to take yourself and your car onto the track.

The subject of safety... We will remind those attending that we do not condone/endorse racing and we fully expect attendees to be law-abiding and to drive responsibly. If you want to drive like an idiot and rag the nuts off your car then please take it elsewhere and leave the rest of us to enjoy the event!
Depending on the event it is quite possible we'll be attracting a lot of attention so please respect other road users and avoid excessive noise/speed in public and built-up areas. Also worth bearing in mind is the fact that there will potentially be lots of bikers, cyclists and horse-riders out sharing and enjoying the roads with us. You know the drill... be extra vigilant and keep checking your mirrors. Please keep it sensible.
