Rebel Spring Brecon Drive - 24th May 2009

Information

You're doing it again?

Due to the popularity of this meet and drive last year we have decided to get out there and do it all again! The weather might be good, bad or indifferent but it won't spoil what will be an enjoyable day for all who wish to attend and take part.

On the subject of safety I will remind people that this is NOT a race; it is a drive designed for enjoyment that takes in many superb driving roads as well as scenic stopping points. As a result this drive may appeal to friends and family who don't necessarily have the passion for their cars and driving as you do...

Does driving make you hungry?

If so then you'll be glad to hear that the Spring Brecon Drive has a planned/reserved cafe stop for food and drink around 13:30. It's a lovely cafe and the meals are delicious and very well priced. Especially the cakes...

Below are a few images of the cafe menu - this should give some idea as to the food available and the sort of prices to expect. Click on the menu images to view larger versions. Of course you don't have to eat but at least the option is there for a break and refreshment should you wish to take advantage of it!

Anything else I need to know?

All the latest updates and information can be found in the forum (link given below) so we'd urge you to join and take a look if you're not already a member.

The route for this drive has already been established and comprises 10 stages covering approximately 180 miles. These stages include the meeting points, meal stop and scenic/photo stops.

The subject of safety... We will remind those attending that we do not condone/endorse racing and we fully expect attendees to be law-abiding and to drive responsibly. If you want to drive like an idiot and rag the nuts off your car then please take it elsewhere and leave the rest of us to enjoy the event!

Depending on the event it is quite possible we'll be attracting a lot of attention so please respect other road users and avoid excessive noise/speed in public and built-up areas. Also worth bearing in mind is the fact that there will potentially be lots of bikers, cyclists and horse-riders out sharing and enjoying the roads with us. You know the drill... be extra vigilant and keep checking your mirrors. Please keep it sensible.
