Almost exactly one year on and it's time again for another Summer Rebel Run in and around South Wales. Come along, join us and help Salem and SharkyUK celebrate their August birthdays (hopefully in glorious summer weather!) You'd be more than welcome!
When:
Sunday 9th August 2009
Where:
Magor Services (M4 J23A - Official Start Point)

Meeting at Magor Services...
This is the 'official' starting point for the Run. For your information Magor Services can be found on the M4 at Junction 23A. The planned departure time is 09:30am so please ensure you arrive in good time as we want to try and avoid any hold-ups! From there we will be heading towards Chepstow for the start of the drive.
Please note that, due to the popularity of this drive and for safety reasons, The Piercefield and The Lamb and Flag are no longer used as pickup points. Consequently please ensure you arrive at Magor Services in good time.
About the route...
This years route is very similar to last years (although we always are ready to make alterations if we hear of any potential disruptions such as roadworks, festivals, etc.) In total the route is approximately 150 miles and takes in the Brecon Beacons, the Valleys and the Black Mountains.
In terms of petrol stations there is an Esso at Magor Services and they do stock premium (high octane) unleaded fuel should you require it. (We would recommend you have a full tank before setting off as having to make a detour en-route can cause havoc!) The official end of the route is at Sarn Park Services and there is a Shell garage located there.

The subject of safety... We will remind those attending that we do not condone/endorse racing and we fully expect attendees to be law-abiding and to drive responsibly. If you want to drive like an idiot and rag the nuts off your car then please take it elsewhere and leave the rest of us to enjoy the event!
Depending on the event it is quite possible we'll be attracting a lot of attention so please respect other road users and avoid excessive noise/speed in public and built-up areas. Also worth bearing in mind is the fact that there will potentially be lots of bikers, cyclists and horse-riders out sharing and enjoying the roads with us. You know the drill... be extra vigilant and keep checking your mirrors. Please keep it sensible.
