Rebel Charity Brecon Drive - 8th August 2010

Information

Each year, Rebel Motorsport Club looks to raise money for a nominated charity through the organisation and running of an event. This year, Rebel is proud to be supporting the Wales Air Ambulance. Please visit their website to read more about the Wales Air Ambulance and the fantastic service they provide!

This year's drive will be in and around the beautiful Brecon area, South Wales. Come along and join us on what will be a very enjoyable day, and support a very worthwhile cause, too. You'd be more than welcome!

When:
Sunday 8th August 2010

Where:
Magor Services (M4 J23A - Official Start Point)

About the route...

The official starting point for this event is at Magor Services. For your information, Magor Services can be found on the M4 at Junction 23A. The planned departure time is 09:30am so please ensure you arrive in good time as we want to try and avoid any hold-ups! From there we will be heading towards Chepstow for the start of the drive.

This year's route is very similar to a route we've done before (although we are always ready to make alterations if we hear of any potential disruptions - such as roadworks, festivals, etc.) In total, the route is approximately 180 miles and it takes in the Brecon Beacons, the Valleys and the Black Mountains.

More images from last years Summer Brecon Run can be viewed through the Rebel Online Gallery here.

In terms of fuel, there is an Esso petrol station at Magor Services and they do stock premium (high octane) unleaded fuel (should you require it). We highly recommend you have a full tank before setting off as having to make a detour en-route can cause unnecessary havoc! The route officially ends at Sarn Park Services, where you will find a Shell garage - again stocking premium (high octane) fuel should you require it.

For this charity event, an entry fee will have to be paid for each car taking part. When we receive the fee, this will be passed wholly onto the nominated charity. As a result, the fee specified is a minimum amount only and you may wish to donate more if you so please. Obviously we would like to encourage additional donations to be made if possible; each and every penny counts!

The entry fee / donation is £5 (minimum) per car.

Payment for this event can be made in various ways. Please take a look at our Payment Options page and decide which is best for you. PayPal users paying with a credit or debit card will be required to pay an additional 50p to cover PayPal card processing costs.

Please direct any queries to:

The subject of safety... We will remind those attending that we do not condone/endorse racing and we fully expect attendees to be law-abiding and to drive responsibly. If you want to drive like an idiot and rag the nuts off your car then please take it elsewhere and leave the rest of us to enjoy the event!

Depending on the event it is quite possible we'll be attracting a lot of attention so please respect other road users and avoid excessive noise/speed in public and built-up areas. Also worth bearing in mind is the fact that there will potentially be lots of bikers, cyclists and horse-riders out sharing and enjoying the roads with us. You know the drill... be extra vigilant and keep checking your mirrors. Please keep it sensible.
